AerCap leased, purchased and sold 204 assets in the third quarter of 2026, covering aircraft, engines and helicopters. The activity, which also included about 900 million dollars (770 million euros) of new financing, shows the lessor continuing to rotate its portfolio toward newer-generation aircraft.
AerCap Holdings is headquartered in Dublin, listed on the New York Stock Exchange (ticker: AER), and serves approximately 300 customers worldwide from offices including Miami, Shannon, Memphis, Singapore, London, Dubai, Shanghai and Amsterdam. For full-year 2025, the company reported revenue of 8.5 billion dollars (7.28 billion euros) and net income of 3.8 billion dollars (3.25 billion euros).
On the leasing side, AerCap signed 85 lease agreements during the quarter, covering 16 widebody aircraft, 45 narrowbody aircraft, 13 engines and 11 helicopters.
The company completed 34 purchases, comprising 32 aircraft and two helicopters. The aircraft for its owned portfolio included eight Airbus A320neo Family jets, 20 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, two Boeing 787-9s and two Embraer E195-E2s.
Sales were more numerous, with 85 transactions covering 65 aircraft, 13 engines and seven helicopters. Owned aircraft sold included 15 Airbus A320 Family jets, nine Boeing 767 freighters, seven Boeing 737NGs, three A330s and three A350s, alongside 13 aircraft from AerCap's managed portfolio.
The mix of purchases and sales points to a deliberate shift, with newer A320neo, 737 MAX, 787-9 and E195-E2 aircraft arriving as older 737NG, A320 and 767 freighter types leave the owned portfolio.
AerCap also repurchased 5.3 million shares at an average price of 147.12 dollars (125.94 euros) per share, a total of about 783 million dollars (670 million euros), and declared a quarterly cash dividend of 0.40 dollars (0.34 euros) per ordinary share.
For the sector, the quarter's volumes underline the scale at which the global leader in aviation leasing recycles capital through aircraft trading, financing and shareholder returns.
