An independent panel of recognised and expert judges, representing the aviation sector, will determine the winners of the Aviation Industry Awards.
Our focus is to deliver a balanced judging assessment from industry leaders who will bring their extensive knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise to the judging process ensuring that the winning entries are truly outstanding and worthy of receiving an Aviation Industry Award.
The panel is carefully selected to ensure the Awards' judging process is fair and objective. The judges are bound by a strict confidentiality agreement and are required to declare any conflict of interest in entries over which they deliberate, in which case that entry will be reallocated. The integrity of this process lies at the very heart of all that we do.
We recognise and respect the sensitivenature of the information submitted in the entries. Submissions are not disclosed or discussed outside the judging process. We do not publish the names of companies, organisations or individuals that have not been shortlisted for an Award, nor will we reproduce any information from your entry unless prior permission is given.
A comprehensive judging process has been put together to decide the worthy winners of the Aviation Industry Awards:
Gerry Eiffe - Technical, Safety & Regulatory Consultant, Aer Assist Aviation Consultants
Gerry has been providing technical, safety and regulatory consultancy to the Irish and international aviation industry since 2001.
He also supplies Technical Management support to aircraft Leasing companies during aircraft transitions to/from lessors/lessees.
Gerry has also been a director of many aircraft leasing companies.
Kieran O'Brien - Partner, KPMG Ireland
Kieran is a Partner in Management Consulting and leads the Aviation Finance & Leasing practice. Kieran has 18 years’ experience of providing advisory services to the world’s leading Aviation organisations, including, Airlines, Lessors, PE, Banks, Airports and MROs.
Margie Burns - Managing Director, Aviation Selection Consultants
Margie Burns is an Aviation Professional with almost 30 years in the aviation industry. She is a much south-after guest speaker at Aviation events such as Pilot Career Live, Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium and Flight Crew Futures.
Patrick Edmond - Founder & Managing Director, Altair Advisory
Patrick is the founder and Managing Director of Altair Advisory, a specialist aviation strategy advisory and consulting firm.
From 2013 to early 2019, Patrick was Group Strategy Director for Shannon Group plc, and Managing Director of Shannon’s International Aviation Services Centre (IASC).
Dr. Ronan O’Higgins - Course Director, School of Engineering, University of Limerick
Dr. Ronan O’Higgins is the Course Director of the Integrated BE/ME of Aeronautical Engineering programme at the University of Limerick. He is a graduate of the same course and has a PhD. in composite aircraft structures.
Aoife O'Sullivan - Partner, The Air Law Firm LLP
Aoife was admitted as a Solicitor in Ireland in 1997 and England and Wales in 1997. Subsequently she was admitted to the Supreme Court of the Cayman Islands in 2002.
Philip Greene - Head of Aircraft Leasing Coverage, HSBC Ireland
Philip is chartered accountant with over 16 years' experience in the financial services sector. During this time Philip has specialized in a number of areas including assurance, banking and structured finance.
John McMahon - Managing Director, M.J. McMahon & Company
John is a non-executive director and consultant with 30+ years in the aviation industry. He led the IPO/NYSE listing of Genesis Lease, where he served as CEO until its merger with AerCap in 2010. Previously, he held senior management positions at Lloyds Bank and debis AirFinance and executive roles at GECAS, GPA and Aer Lingus.
