Brazil-based MRO provider DTX Aerospace Airframe Services has expanded its maintenance portfolio with the addition of Airbus A330ceo/neo support at its facility in Porto Alegre, broadening its widebody capability alongside an existing portfolio spanning Embraer E-Jets, Airbus A320ceo/neo aircraft and Boeing 737 Classic and Next Generation platforms.

According to Aviation Business News, the new capability is backed by certifications from Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, enabling DTX Aerospace to support both regional and international operators seeking structural and base maintenance services for the A330 family.

The Porto Alegre facility provides integrated support across airframe maintenance, components and engine services, complementing the company's dedicated landing gear operation in Rio de Janeiro. The addition of A330 approvals extends the facility's full-service offering to cover a wider range of structural repairs and base maintenance requirements.

Alcides Conter, vice president of operations for airframe at DTX Aerospace Airframe Services, said the investment reflected both market demand and the company's long-term vision for growth. "This development is just the beginning. As we continue to build on this foundation, we see strong potential to expand our footprint further, accommodate more aircraft, and continue developing Porto Alegre as a centre of excellence for integrated maintenance solutions," he said.

The A330ceo and neo remain among the most widely operated widebody aircraft in commercial aviation, with a large installed base across Latin American, European and Asia-Pacific carriers. Demand for independent A330 MRO capacity has grown as the type ages into higher-frequency maintenance cycles, creating opportunities for third-party providers to capture work previously directed to OEM-affiliated facilities.

Brazil's MRO sector has attracted growing investment in recent years, supported by the country's large domestic aviation market and its geographic positioning as a hub for South American regional connectivity, making Porto Alegre an increasingly viable base for operators seeking widebody maintenance access in the southern hemisphere.
