Industry NewsDublin-based Titan Aviation Leasing sells Boeing 767-300ERF freighter to ATSG subsidiary CAM
Dublin-based aircraft lessor Titan Aviation Leasing, an Atlas Air Worldwide company, has completed the sale of a Boeing 767-300ERF freighter to Cargo Aircraft Management, a subsidiary of US air transport group Air Transport Services Group, in a transaction the company described as part of its ongoing portfolio optimisation strategy.
According to Aviation Business News, the deal was structured alongside Bain Capital and reflects Titan's approach to monetising high-quality assets through transactions with established cargo operators and leasing platforms. Terms were not disclosed.
Eamonn Forbes, senior vice president and chief commercial officer of Titan Asset Management Ireland Limited, said the sale demonstrated the company's disciplined approach to portfolio management. "This sale demonstrates our disciplined approach to portfolio management and our ability to successfully monetise high-quality assets through transactions with established industry participants such as CAM," he said.
Andy Lawrence, president of CAM, said demand for the Boeing 767 freighter platform remained strong as operators sought proven, reliable aircraft capable of supporting a wide range of cargo missions. "This acquisition maintains our position as the world's leading cargo leasing business while we continue to support the evolving needs of the global air cargo market," he said.
The Boeing 767-300ERF is a widebody freighter variant of the 767-300ER, capable of carrying approximately 52 tonnes of payload over ranges of up to 6,000 kilometres. The type is widely operated by express cargo carriers, charter freight operators and ACMI providers globally, and continues to attract strong secondary market demand despite its age as a platform, driven by its combination of payload capacity, operating economics and ability to access a wide range of cargo airports.
Cargo Aircraft Management is one of the largest dedicated cargo aircraft leasing businesses in the world, providing aircraft to ATSG's own operating airlines as well as to third-party cargo carriers. ATSG's operating subsidiaries include Air Transport International and Omni Air International, which together operate an extensive fleet of Boeing 767 freighters on behalf of major express logistics customers.
Ireland's role as a global aircraft leasing hub underpins transactions of this kind, with Dublin-domiciled lessors regularly engaged in secondary market trading of freighter assets across North American, European and Asia-Pacific cargo operators.
