Aviation Capital Group, the California-based aircraft lessor known as ACG, has placed the largest order in its nearly 40-year history, signing for 75 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft with deliveries scheduled between 2032 and 2035. The deal, finalised on 16 October, extends the orderbook pipeline of a lessor that maintains a Dublin office into the mid-2030s.
The announcement carries an Irish connection, with ACG maintaining a Dublin office through ACG Aircraft Leasing Ireland Limited. Based on Baggot Street in Dublin 4, the company forms part of Ireland’s globally significant aircraft leasing ecosystem, which remains a key hub for airline fleet financing and aircraft ownership.
ACG is headquartered in Newport Beach, California, was founded in 1989, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tokyo Century Corporation. For 2025 it reported record revenues of 1.3 billion dollars (1.11 billion euros) and total assets of 13.7 billion dollars (11.7 billion euros), with 446 owned, managed and committed aircraft at the end of the year.
The agreement includes conversion rights between variants within the A320neo Family, giving ACG added flexibility to meet future airline requirements. As of 30 June 2026 the lessor owned 118 A320neo Family aircraft, and the latest commitment lifts its outstanding orderbook for the type to 115 aircraft.
Airbus is headquartered in Toulouse, France, and has worked with ACG since 2007, when the lessor placed its first order with the manufacturer.
“ACG’s portfolio strategy is focused on new-technology narrowbody aircraft that are most in-demand with airlines globally,” said Thomas Baker, chief executive and president of ACG. “Placing the largest order in our nearly 40-year history is a statement of confidence in the long-term future of air travel and in ACG’s important role as a conduit between airlines, aircraft and capital.”
“The A320neo Family remains one of the most sought-after aircraft families among our airline customers, supporting both their replacement and growth requirements,” said Rob Downes, ACG’s chief OEM officer. “This order gives ACG additional capacity to meet that demand, extends our orderbook pipeline into the mid-2030s and positions us for further growth.”
Benoit de Saint-Exupery, Airbus executive vice president of sales for commercial aircraft, said the agreement would allow ACG to keep supplying airlines with the latest-generation single-aisle aircraft well into the next decade.
For the sector, the order shows lessors with Irish operations committing to new-technology narrowbody capacity well into the 2030s.
