EirTrade expands A330 operations and maintenance at Ireland West Airport
EirTrade Aviation has advanced its presence at Knock, Ireland West Airport with three key developments: a servicing agreement for four Airbus A330s, the addition of A330 line maintenance approval, and the relocation of its AFRA-accredited engine disassembly facility.
The company plans to dismantle the first two A330 airframes (MSN 602 & 607) within four weeks, remarketing and leasing the CF6-80E1 engines to maximise remaining operational life. Unserviceable engines will also be disassembled, with components sold to support EirTrade’s A330 clients.
EirTrade has secured EASA Part 145 Line Maintenance Approval for multiple A330 variants, including GE CF6, PW4000, RR Trent 700, and A330 NEO Trent 7000 engines. This expands its existing approvals for A318–A321 and B737 aircraft, covering engines such as CFM56, IAE V2500, LEAP-1A/B, and PW1100.
The relocation of its engine disassembly operations to Knock enables support for CFM56-3/-5A/-5B/-7B/-7BE engines. This consolidation allows EirTrade to provide comprehensive maintenance, aircraft disassembly, and engine disassembly services from a single location, improving operational efficiency and cost management.
Lee Carey, Chief Investment Officer, highlighted that the enhanced capabilities support lessors and airlines by streamlining redelivery, parking, and maintenance of A330 aircraft on-site. The integrated approach underlines EirTrade’s strategy to serve its global customer base across asset servicing, leasing, maintenance, disassembly, and component sales.
EirTrade’s expansion at Ireland West Airport strengthens its ability to manage A330 lifecycle operations efficiently, reinforcing its position in the European aviation maintenance market.
