Jane Magill Recognised for Outstanding Contribution to Ireland’s Aviation Industry Awards 2024

Jane Magill, one of Ireland’s most respected advocates for aviation education and training, was honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to the Aviation Industry Award at the Aviation Industry Awards 2024.

As Chair of the Irish Aviation Foundation and co-founder of the Shannon Aviation Museum and Aviation Discovery Centre, Magill has played a pivotal role in inspiring future generations to pursue careers in aviation.

The recognition celebrates her remarkable leadership, lifelong dedication, and influence in shaping Ireland’s aviation landscape. Her initiatives have transformed Shannon into a centre of educational excellence, one of only 12 FAI-accredited museums globally, connecting young learners with real-world aviation expertise through immersive experiences and mentorship programmes.

In her capacity as Managing Director of AAV Aviation Technical Services Training, Magill has also pioneered professional training standards that have awarded over 1,200 certifications, equipping professionals with the technical skills and confidence to excel in a rapidly evolving industry.

A passionate pilot and advocate for inclusivity, Magill continues to champion women in aviation, driving forward a more diverse and forward-thinking sector. Her contributions, judges noted, have created a lasting impact on Ireland’s aviation community and inspired countless individuals to take flight, both literally and figuratively.

Launched in 2014, the Aviation Industry Awards remain the benchmark for excellence in Ireland’s aviation sector, celebrating innovation, dedication, and outstanding achievements shaping the industry’s future.

The Aviation Industry Awards 2025 Gala will take place on Friday, 28 November 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry.
