Simtech Aviation has announced a major expansion of its Dublin-based pilot training centre through a long-term partnership with Aer Lingus, part of International Airlines Group (IAG), one of the world’s largest airline groups.

The expansion will introduce advanced CAE full-flight simulators for Airbus A320, A330, and A321XLR aircraft.

The A320 CEO/NEO and A330 CEO/NEO full-flight simulators are scheduled to enter service in early 2026, with the A321XLR simulator following in early 2027.

The move aims to support growing airline pilot training demand while reinforcing Dublin’s position as a leading European aviation training hub.

Founded in 2001, Simtech Aviation is approved by the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) and EASA as a European Approved Training Organisation. The company has trained over 5,500 student pilots and works with airlines and flight schools across Ireland, the UK, and Europe, delivering training on Airbus, Boeing, and ATR aircraft.

The facility currently operates ATR 500 and ATR 600 full-flight simulators, a fixed-base Boeing 737-800NG simulator for APS MCC training, and an Airbus A320 full-flight simulator, which will see expanded availability from mid-2026. Together, these assets position Simtech as Ireland’s largest full-flight simulator training centre, supporting airline and cadet pilot programmes across multiple aircraft types.

Alongside airline training, Simtech has established a recognised centre of excellence for student pilots, delivering airline-aligned advanced simulator programmes in partnership with flight schools. Its focus on instructor expertise, operational reliability, and modern infrastructure ensures pilots are trained to airline operational standards.

The expansion is expected to meet rising demand for trained pilots across Europe and beyond, strengthening Dublin’s role in international aviation training and contributing to the growth of the regional aviation ecosystem.
