UAE and Egypt expand aviation cooperation with new MoUs
Abu Dhabi Aviation Group and Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation have formalised five memorandums of understanding to enhance civil aviation services between the two countries. The agreements establish frameworks for collaboration across airport development, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), air cargo, pilot and technical staff training, VIP operations, and air safety.
The MoUs were signed during a high-level visit from an Egyptian delegation led by Minister Dr. Sameh El Hefny. The delegation toured ADA Group facilities, including Royal Jet, Etihad Airways Engineering, and Maximus Air, observing capabilities across training, navigation, and operational services.
Strategic partnerships now link Royal Jet with the Egyptian Airports Company, EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering with Etihad Airways Engineering, EgyptAir Academy with the Abu Dhabi Aviation Training Centre, GAL with EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering, and Maximus Air with EgyptAir Cargo. The agreements aim to unlock joint projects, enhance operational efficiency, and support regional air connectivity.
Officials highlighted the potential of these collaborations to strengthen economic integration and expand aviation networks. By combining state-of-the-art facilities, shared expertise, and workforce development initiatives, the UAE and Egypt aim to position themselves as central hubs for regional aviation services.
The MoUs reflect long-term strategic planning to adapt to evolving aviation demands, from cargo logistics to technical training and VIP operations, while creating opportunities for further bilateral cooperation.
