Industry NewsAJW Group appoints engineer and racing driver Angus Whiteside to its board of directors
UK-based independent aircraft component parts, repair and supply chain solutions provider AJW Group has appointed Angus Whiteside to its board of directors, combining technical engineering expertise with commercial experience gained across multiple aviation organisations.
According to Aviation Business News, Whiteside began his career as a mechanic at AJW Technique in Montreal before progressing to Bombardier and subsequently qualifying as a B1 Aircraft Engineer at Volare Aviation, where he developed experience across technical operations, regulatory compliance and engineering. He returned to AJW Group in 2025, spending time across each department before moving into a commercial role.
Clyde Buntrock, chief executive of AJW Group, said Whiteside's technical depth and commercial understanding made the appointment thoroughly deserved. "Angus's technical depth, commercial understanding, and relentless focus on performance make his appointment to the board thoroughly deserved and reflect both his achievements to date and the significant contribution he will continue to make as we pursue our long-term growth ambitions," he said.
Whiteside said he was honoured to join the board and looked forward to contributing to the next phase of growth and innovation at the company.
Beyond aviation, Whiteside is an accomplished professional racing driver and former Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion who currently competes in the GT World Challenge Endurance series.
AJW Group is one of the largest independent providers of aircraft component parts and supply chain solutions in the global aviation aftermarket, serving airlines, MRO organisations and lessors across a broad range of commercial and business aviation platforms. The company offers component trading, repair management, technical support and AOG services from its facilities in the UK and internationally.
Board-level appointments that combine deep technical qualifications with commercial experience have become increasingly valued across the aviation aftermarket, as independent parts providers navigate a complex operating environment shaped by supply chain disruption, fleet ageing and growing demand for alternative sourcing solutions outside OEM channels.
The appointment reflects AJW Group's stated ambition to continue expanding its commercial reach and technical capabilities as demand for independent component support grows across global aviation markets.
