Industry NewsFL Technics Wheels and Brakes secures UK CAA approval for component MRO operations
European component maintenance provider FL Technics Wheels and Brakes has obtained approval from the UK Civil Aviation Authority, opening direct access to the UK's registered aircraft fleet across its wheels, brakes and landing gear maintenance portfolio.
According to AviTrader, the approval reference UK.145.01957, was granted on 6 February 2026 and confirms the company's compliance with UK Part-145 requirements, the post-Brexit regulatory framework governing approved maintenance organisations operating on UK-registered aircraft. The certification authorises FL Technics Wheels and Brakes to carry out maintenance on components including landing gear parts within its approved scope of work.
Prior to the approval, UK-registered operators were outside the company's directly serviceable customer base, requiring regulatory intermediaries or limiting access to EASA-jurisdiction work only. The UK CAA certification removes that barrier entirely.
Vytautas Jankauskas, CEO of FL Technics Wheels and Brakes, said the approval was an important milestone for the business. "It enables us to directly support UK-registered operators and expands the range of customers we can serve within our component maintenance activities," he said.
The UK approval sits alongside the company's existing EASA Part-145 certification, held under Germany's Luftfahrt-Bundesamt, giving FL Technics Wheels and Brakes dual regulatory standing across both the UK and European aviation frameworks, a combination increasingly sought by MRO providers seeking uninterrupted access to operators on both sides of the post-Brexit divide.
The UK operates one of Europe's largest registered commercial fleets, with carriers including British Airways, easyJet and Ryanair's UK subsidiary maintaining significant narrowbody and widebody operations that generate sustained demand for certified component maintenance capacity.
