Flexjet secures AOC in Ireland to expand European operations

Flexjet has established an air operator certificate (AOC) in Ireland, marking its third European AOC after the U.K. and Malta. The Irish operation will feature a locally registered fleet and a Dublin-based operations team, supporting both fractional ownership and charter services.

The move follows a comprehensive assessment by the Irish Aviation Authority, which recognised Flexjet’s operational standards. CEO Andrew Collins highlighted that the Irish AOC enhances fleet optimisation and efficiency across global operations, while also positioning Ireland as a growing market for its customers.

Since launching its European fractional ownership programme in 2020, Flexjet has expanded its footprint, opening a Malta operations centre in 2021 and acquiring U.K.-based helicopter operator Halo. The company also maintains a U.K. AOC through its 2016 acquisition of FlairJet, while its rotorcraft division has been rebranded under Flexjet.

Flexjet’s European fleet includes Gulfstream G650 and Embraer Praetor 600 aircraft. In addition, its aircraft management arm, Sirio, opened a hangar at Milan’s Linate Airport in 2023, complementing the global training centre at Farnborough Airport outside London.

The Irish AOC allows Flexjet to operate commercial aviation services in line with local regulations, reinforcing its strategy to optimise fleet deployment across Europe while expanding customer access. The addition of Ireland underscores Flexjet’s commitment to strategic growth and operational excellence in the region.
