Ireland-based ABL Aviation opens Manila technical hub to strengthen Asia-Pacific operations

Ireland-based aircraft lessor ABL Aviation has opened a technical hub in Manila, reinforcing its presence across the Asia-Pacific region as demand for leased aircraft continues to grow against a backdrop of persistent delivery constraints.

According to Business Inquirer, the new facility will support aircraft inspections, lease management and technical oversight across ABL Aviation's regional portfolio, which spans airline partners in Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan, China and South Korea. The Manila office adds to the company's existing global network, which includes offices in Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York, Dublin, Casablanca and Dubai.

Chief Technical Officer Donal O'Shea will lead the Manila hub. O'Shea said the move was aimed at improving responsiveness to airline partners as regional demand for aircraft continued to grow. "Establishing a technical team on the ground allows us to enhance our responsiveness, support our partners more effectively and maintain the highest standards across our portfolio," he said.

ABL Aviation founder and CEO Ali Ben Lmadani described the Manila office as a natural step in the company's Asian expansion. "A dedicated technical presence ensures the oversight and execution that our platform is known for," he said.

The expansion arrives as Asia-Pacific carriers continue to rebuild capacity following the pandemic, even as new aircraft deliveries remain constrained by supply chain pressures linked to the ongoing situation in the Middle East. The combination of rising demand and limited OEM output has placed aircraft lessors at the centre of fleet planning for airlines across the region.

ABL Aviation said the Manila hub forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen its in-house technical capabilities across the full aircraft lifecycle, from delivery through to lease transitions.
