New CSO data shows Ireland’s aircraft leasing workforce — just over 3,000 people — earned an average of €206,000 each in 2024. The industry, home to global giants like AerCap, Avolon and SMBC Aviation Capital, managed aircraft worth €268 billion by year-end, underlining its outsized role in global aviation finance.

The figures highlight both the concentration of talent in Dublin’s leasing hub and the sector’s growing weight in international aviation supply chains.
